Three chickens, three santa hats, and a bunch of personality packed into one design. The centre hen is the lil showoff of the group, she's got a blue bow round her neck and shes staring right at ya. The one on the left is browner and scruffier, the right one is grey and a bit more prim about it. All 3 have that chunky cartoon style where the eyes are big and expressive and the body feathers are built up in layers of directional satin fill.

This one has 9 colours and 10 colour changes, which sounds like alot but the sequencing is logical. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio mapped the layering cleanly so you're not jumping between unrelated areas constantly. The density comes in at 1717 across 5 sizes, with the smallest at 3.13 inches wide and the largest hitting 6.69 inches. At the bigger sizes youre looking at over 86,000 stitches, so use a heavy cutaway stabiliser and make sure your bobbin tension is set right before you start.

A customer asked about hooping this on a yellow tea towel and it turned out really well, the warm butter yellow background made the red hats pop without needing to change any thread colours. Best on tightly woven cotton or canvas where the density wont cause puckering. Add topping on anything with a linen-weave texture so the fill stitches dont sink into the fabric grain. Run your bobbin thread in a neutral so it doesnt show through at the satin edges.

People use this on Christmas kitchen towels, holiday aprons, canvas bags for farm lovers, cushion covers for a country-style living room, or on kids christmas pyjama tops. Its also popular on tote bags for chicken keepers, which is apparently a whole community of people who are very devoted to their birds.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas kitchen towelsThe 9-colour design sits nicely on a natural or yellow cotton tea towel, the red hats read clearly without needing high contrast.
  • Holiday aprons for farm-themed kitchensA bib apron gives a good flat surface to hoop, and the wide horizontal layout fills the chest area well at the 5-inch size.
  • Tote bags for chicken keepersChicken keepers love this one, the cartoon style is expressive enough that people genuinely recognise the breed characteristics.
  • Cushion covers for country-style living roomsThe square-ish proportions of the group composition centre well on a standard 18x18 cushion cover.
  • Kids christmas pyjama topsThe smaller 3.13-inch size works on a chest pocket panel for kids pyjama tops without overwhelming the garment.
  • Holiday gift bags with a farm themeUse the 4-in placement on a fabric gift bag panel; its detailed enough to look premium but fast enough to do in multiples.
  • Wall art hoops as seasonal decorHooped and framed as a hoop art display, this one reads well from across the room thanks to the high density fill.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
