This gnome is the Scandinavian gift-shop version, not the plain red one. The body and arms are a rich aqua-teal colour covered in proper nordic geometric patterns: diamond rows, dot clusters, triangle borders running down the legs. Its dense decorative work, the kind you see on a hand-knit norwegian jumper, all digitised with directional tatami fills so the pattern actually reads in thread.

Up top theres a big red bow sitting right where the hat meets the head, and three pine needle sprigs fan out from behind it like a lil wreath crown. The beard is white and long, reaching past the waist. Eight colours total in the file: aqua for the main body fill, 2 reds for the bow depth, sand for the nose, teal for the detail overlay, white for beard and pompom, grey for shading, and black outline throughout. Wilcom pulled the satin column outlines on the pine needles clean, which is the tricky part on something this small.

I built this one in september after an order from a woman who stocks a nordic-themed gift shop in the north of england. She wanted something that felt premium enough to go on a linen tea towel gift set, not just a kids jumper. Since then Ive had alot of interest from people doing scandinavian christmas markets and hygge-themed product ranges.

Stitch on natural linen, cream canvas, or white cotton for the cleanest result. The aqua pops best on a pale or neutral ground. Skip dark navy or black because the teal body disappears. Hoop tight and use cutaway stabiliser on the bigger sizes. 38k stitches at 7.5 inches is dense enough to need that support under it, dont skimp on stabiliser.

Five sizes from 3.5 to 7.5 inches. Smallest is 15,372 stitches, useful for pocket or bib placements. Use the large 7.5-inch on a centre-panel linen tote or cushion cover where the pattern detail can breathe. Ping me if anything stitches off on the geometric fills and Ill check the file against your machine format.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
