A customer wrote me last December to say shed used the 7 inch version on a set of holiday cushion covers for her living room and her friends all thought theyd come from an expensive homeware shop. Thats exactly what this design does. It looks complicated because theres genuinely alot happening, reindeer, snowflakes, candy canes, gift boxes, holly, all packed into the shape of a christmas tree. But the stitch count is moderate because each icon is outlined rather than filled solid.
Two colours carry the whole thing: red and a muted teal-green, background fabric showing through between the icons. That negative space is what lets you read each little motif separately instead of blending into a blob. The red star at the top pulls everything together and tells your eye this is a tree.
Stick a medium tearaway to the back of the panel pre-hoop. The icons are a mix of satin outline stitches and small filled sections, and cutaway isnt needed unless youre on stretch. Use a topping on any textured weave so the smaller icon outlines dont sink. Stitch it at 3.5 inches for a stocking cuff or compact gift tag, go to 7.49 inches for a full cushion front. Stitch range 8,958 to 19,414 so even the full-size version runs fast. Four colour changes: teal, red, white detail, star accent.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Christmas cushion covers and holiday home decorthe 7-in build on a cushion front fills the space without needing a border, it works as a standalone panel.
- Festive tote bags and fabric gift wrappingRed or green tote bag fabric makes the teal and red palette pop in a way that white backgrounds dont.
- Holiday sweaters and Christmas jumpersCentre chest on a sweatshirt at 5 inches is a clean placement that doesnt feel oversized for everyday wear.
- Christmas stocking toe and cuff decorationThe compact 3.5 inch version fits on a stocking cuff without overlapping the seam line.
- Gift pouches and holiday card insertsA small gift pouch in velvet with this stitched on the front makes a keepsake packaging option.
- Christmas tablecloths and linen napkinsWhite or cream linen napkins with the medium size in one corner works for a non-traditional christmas table.
- Matching sets of holiday kitchen accessoriesKitchen aprons, oven mitts and tea towels in matching red with this stitched in teal make a coordinated gift set.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
