Its the santa hat that someone just tossed down next to a sprig of holly. The shape is relaxed and angled, not the stiff upright version you see everywhere, and that makes it feel more natural on fabric. The red fill stitches at a diagonal, the brim has a grey underside that stops it looking flat, and the holly cluster at the base gives the whole thing some colour contrast. Those yellow-green berries are the bit people notice first, they sit right in the visual sweet spot of the design.

Worked in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio, so the satin areas on the hat body are smooth and consistent. Hoop the fabric with a firm stabiliser, the hat shape has a lot of satin fill and you dont want any shifting mid-run. The smallest size at 1.58 in is tight but readable, works on collar edges or small cuffs. Reach for the 4.49 in or 5.50 in version if youre putting this on a tee, bag, or fleece scarf.

I get requests for this sort of design every november, people wanting something hat-based that isnt the same old centered upright version. This one looks good at an angle on a pocket, a sleeve, or the corner of a white tea towel. Stitch it on a red felt square and cut around it for a quick handmade ornament aswell. Reach out via the contact page if you run into any trouble with the download.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
