Heres the dragon and its mid-roar with the whole body coiled into a tight spiral. Wings stretched out wide and sharp on both sides. Tail wraps around the bottom and curls back up. Mouth wide open, teeth bared, a lil tongue of flame escaping the throat. The pose reads like a tattoo flash sheet, the kind ya see in a bunch of japanese yakuza prints.

And the colour palette stays mean. Five colours total. Black handles the heavy outlines and the spine plates. Fire red fills the inside of the wings, the open mouth and the flame accents drifting around the coiled body. Orange flashes through the deepest fire spots. Charcoal grey shades the underbelly and the wing membranes for depth. Tiny white highlights catch on the eye and a few scale tips.

Stitch counts run heavy because of the dense satin black work. 18k on the smallest 3.4 inch size, 48.3k on the biggest 7.3 inch version. Density holds at 888 across the file, only five colour changes total but theres alot of black so the file feels heavier than the colour count suggests. Theres alot of jump trims aswell.

Last halloween one customer ordered the seven-inch version for a back-of-jacket biker piece on charcoal denim and the stitchout was honestly killer. This dragon belongs on dark fantasy or magical-themed pieces, not anything pretty or whimsical-floral. Stitch on black, charcoal grey, dark navy, deep burgundy or olive. Skip pale fabric, the fierce silhouette needs dark or saturated backgrounds to feel menacing. White cotton just kills the mood completely.

Use a heavy cutaway stabiliser, the dense black fills will pucker on softer fabric without proper backing. Hoop tight, drop the speed during the darkest scale fills along the spine where the satin runs long. Add an underlay if youre digitising onto fleece or twill. Knock me on the chatbox if your software cuts a line of stitches early.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
