Its set up like a vintage patch youd find sewn on a fishing guide's jacket from the 1970s, 7 colours, 5 sizes, circular badge format. Pulls it off really well.

The whole thing sits inside a solid circular border, the kind of shape you see on national park badges or old scout merit patches. Inside the circle a man in a cap and a tan jacket stands on a rocky ledge, rod bent forward mid-cast, the line arcing out above him. His silhouette is clean, no fussiness in the face or hands, just enough detail to read clearly at distance. Behind him the lake opens up in flat turquoise fill, mountains in the background as a darker teal band, pine trees silhouetted in near-black on both sides. Upper sky is warm pale yellow that bleeds down into the lake, giving it a golden-hour feel. On the left edge, foreground ferns and rocks in dark olive break out of the main composition slightly, stops it looking too contained.

Stitch count from 25k at the 3.18-inch up to 65k at the 6.8-inch, five sizes available. One customer ordered last autumn for a waxed canvas jacket back panel, he told me he wore it to a fishing trip in scotland and got three people asking where he bought it. The circular border holds everything together so its a solid standalone patch without any extra framing.

Use a sturdy canvas, denim or thick twill. Hoop tight, use a cutaway stabiliser given the stitch count, and trim the outer border circle cleanly after stitching if youre making a freestanding patch. Float a topping layer on cap fabric if youre going that route. Reach out if the turquoise fill looks patchy on your run, that particular thread colour can vary quite a bit between brands.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
