The whole thing sits inside a tight circle, like an old fishing patch you'd pull off a vintage tackle vest. And the bass itself is the star of it. Mouth wide open, gills flared out in that deep red, body twisting mid-leap with the water breaking around the lower half. Its got that classic fishing art quality where every part of the fish is doing something. Not just floating there.

Nine colours go into this one. The body runs in two greens, a lighter lime layer over the main darker green fill so the scales have actual depth. Then the gills come in with two red stops, the water gets a pair of aqua and teal shades, and a soft salmon wash fills the sunset sky behind the fish. Black carries the outlines and the patch border, which is thick enough to hold the whole composition together on fabric. And honestly the red gills are what the eye goes to first every time.

I made this specifically for fishing apparel and the kind of patch-style gear that anglers actually buy. Last spring one customer stitched a 6-inch run onto a canvas tackle bag and sent me a photo, the round border sat perfectly flat with no puckering at all. Thats what proper underlay work delivers. Density runs moderate to heavy on this one, 38k stitches at the smallest size and nearly 85k at 8 inches, so dont rush through the stabiliser setup.

Stitch on structured fabric for the cleanest read. Canvas, twill caps, denim jackets and cotton poplin all work great. Pop it on a khaki or olive base and the greens come up really rich. Skip thin knits or jersey for anything over 5 inches, the density wont sit flat without a proper cutaway beneath it. Pair a no-show cutaway stabiliser and hoop firm. Tear-away works on duck cloth for the smaller sizes but cutaway is safer across the board.

Five sizes run from 4 inches up to 8. Eight colour changes, 88 trims, Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitised in Tajima format. Theres nothing complicated about the setup once youve got the right stabiliser. Any problems with the file just message me and Ill sort it fast.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Fishing club caps and trucker hatsWorks great on structured cap fronts in khaki or olive where the circular border reads like a proper patch badge
  • Canvas tackle bags and gear pouchesStitch on a natural canvas tackle bag and the 9-colour design holds up through real outdoor use on heavy fabric
  • Denim or canvas fishing jacketsThe bold black border and full colour fill sit cleanly on denim with a good cutaway and gives the jacket a vintage sportswear look
  • Personalised gifts for anglers and fishermenFrame it small for a gift tag or go full 8 inch on a fishing shirt for someone who takes their bass fishing seriously
  • Outdoor sports and hunting apparelPairs well with camo or earth-tone outdoor gear where that green and red colour combo stands out without clashing
  • Patch-style hoops for cabin or lodge decorHoop it in an 8-inch frame with linen backing and hang it in a fishing cabin or garage workshop as a decorative piece
  • Youth fishing team jerseys and uniformsScale down to the 4-inch run for youth jerseys where the circular format fits neatly on a chest or sleeve

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
