After my mum saw this design idea in a vintage embroidery book she pushed me to digitise it. Took me about a month of fiddling, the small floral details inside the wings kept clogging at the smallest sizes. Recieved alot of help from beta testers on this one. The trick was raising the underlay density on the wing florals so the outline stays crisp.

Four colours. Nine sizes. Stitch counts kick from 14828 small to 34463 big. Density 635, moderate, the floral inserts need that to read clear at the 3-in mark range without the petals blurring together. Hoop a medium cutaway stabiliser. Use a 70/10 sharp needle for the small wing florals. Pleased with the final stitch on this one. Im honest, the lettering took longest to map. Im quick to share the small hoop tip. Honestly Im chuffed with how this stitched out. Thats the section that took longest to digitise.

Id a customer suprised at how well this stitched at 4 inches. She put it on a linen tea towel hem. Crisp. The bold outline plus delicate fill is what gives this design its stained glass feel. Pair it with cream or pale sage backgrounds for the strongest contrast.

Use this design on tea towel hems, pillow centres, tee fronts, denim jacket back, cotton tote bags, framed wall hoops, kids quilt blocks. Pretty versatile for the price actually. Stick to woven fabrics, the floral wing detail distorts on stretchy knits. Skip lightweight linens without proper cutaway, the high outline stitches can pull on thin weave.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Linen tea towel hem accentLinen tea-towel hem for a cottage-kitchen gift, my customer raved about how crisp the design held even at the smaller hoop scales.
  • Cotton throw pillow centreCotton throw-pillow centre for a garden-themed reading corner; rayon thread brings out the muted sage and rose floral inserts gently.
  • Cotton tee front chest designReads as stained-glass-window rather than craft-pattern, which a botanical-print collector flagged when she ordered five sweatshirt fronts.
  • Denim jacket back panel piecedenim panel for a garden-club member, double cutaway plus 600 spm machine speed protects the bold outline sections cleanly.
  • Heavy canvas tote bag sidehelps the design stand out on a heavy canvas tote at full width, two cutaway layers underneath holds through farmers-market browsing wear.
  • Wall hoop framed garden artLinen wall hoop for a gardeners feature wall, topping film delivers the small floral wing inserts crisp without sinking into the weave.
  • Kids cotton quilt block centreCotton kids quilt-block centre for a garden-fairy bedroom theme, fusible cutaway with a 70/10 sharp keeps the small-scale details intact.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
