The low density on this one is intentional. At 70 the fill is open and slightly breathable, which suits the boho botanical style because you want the deer to feel light and sketchy rather than heavily stitched. I digitised it in Wilcom with the floral elements on the antlers using a mixture of short satin columns for leaves and small radial fill segments for the flower petals, each flower is only a few millimetres across even at the 7-inch top inch size so the digitising on those small elements has to be clean or they bunch up. Eight colours, but the design doesnt feel busy because the palette is all warm naturals and muted botanicals.

Nine sizes, 3 in through 7.5 inches wide. Stitch range from 1,008 at the smallest up to 25,449 at the biggest. At 70 density this is one of the faster stitch-outs in this size range, at the 5 inch size youre looking at around 12,000 stitches which goes quickly. Tearaway stabiliser works well on most fabrics for this one because the density is low and the underlay is minimal. Avoid topping on smooth fabrics because at density 70 the topping can actually crush the satin detail on those tiny blooms. On a rough linen you might want a light water-soluble sheet on top just to stop the needle from catching on the weave texture during the small floral elements.

I get messages from customers using this on nursery items and home decor pieces more than garments, which makes sense, that woodland aesthetic is built for it. One customer wrote me in february asking if she could use it on a raw-edge embroidery hoop for a wall display, she was doing a set of three in different sizes for a woodland nursery wall arrangement. The answer is yes and it looks great, stretch the fabric in a display hoop, let that open fill catch the light, and the piece has a real handmade quality that works perfectly for that kind of display. Use warm tone thread, dusty rose and sage on natural linen reads especially well.

On a natural linen or cream cotton fabric the warm tan and rose tones in this palette work especially well and the open fill lets the natural texture of the fabric show through around the design.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Nursery wall display hoop woodland themeNursery wall display, 5-inch on natural linen stretched in a wooden hoop, backed with coordinating felt for a finished edge, a classic woodland room piece.
  • Boho tote bag floral deer accentNatural canvas tote at 5 inches, tearaway, the tan and dusty rose palette reads beautifully on cream or oatmeal canvas without any heavy contrast.
  • Linen cushion cover boho nature motifLinen cushion cover at 6 inches, avoid topping on smooth linen so the open 70-density fill breathes naturally and catches light properly.
  • Kids bedroom decor embroidered hoop artWoodland nursery accent in a 4-inch round display hoop on pale sage fabric, cream felt backing, sits alongside other hoop art without competing.
  • Cotton canvas craft bag front panelCotton canvas craft bag front at 5 inches, tearaway, eight quick colour changes and this stitches out in under thirty minutes at the medium size.
  • Fall seasonal throw pillow accentAutumn linen throw pillow at 5.5 inches, standard tearaway, warm tan and rose threads, the seasonal palette reads right without needing any special setup.
  • Denim jacket back boho botanical designBoho denim jacket back at 5 inches, medium cutaway on denim, go steady on the small floral elements at the antler tips, theyre fiddly at speed.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
