This 12-colour giraffe takes a while to stitch but the finished result is genuinely worth every minute of machine time. The giraffe head and long neck fill the composition, and woven all through the neck and around the face are botanical flowers: open blooms, leaves, small buds, all layered so they look like theyre growing from the animal itself. Its a proper illustrated piece, not a cartoon, not a simple outline. Real depth to it and youre gonna love how it comes off the hoop.

Runs across 4 sizes from 5.5 inches wide up to 8.5 inches at the biggest hoop. Stitches go from 31,900 to 51,840 depending on size. Density comes in at 1,085 on this build, which is high, so plan for it. Mapped in Wilcom and used satin patches for the giraffe spot pattern across the neck, with directional stitching on the flower petals to give em a dimensional look. The underlay structure on the floral sections keeps everything in place during the long run time.

Back this with a heavy cutaway stabiliser, no compromises on that given the density. Slow your machine speed to around 600 stitches per minute for the denser flower sections. Lay a water-soluble film over towelling or any fabric with texture to keep the satin columns from sinking. A customer wrote me after stitching this on a white waffle fabric nursery cushion and said it came out looking like a painting, which is exactly the vibe I aimed for. Pick cream, white, navy, or sage green as your base fabric and all 12 thread colours will pop properly.

Got questions about colour placement or thread brand swaps before you start? Planning those 12 colour changes before you sit down at the machine will save you a bunch of confusion. Email me with your fabric and thread setup and Ill tell you exactly how to sequence the run.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
