Three colours -- thats all it takes. Dark silhouette fill, a contrasting heartbeat pulse line that runs clean across the design, and a third softer colour for the butterflies and floral detail. I designed this one aswell as a matching solid-silhouette version but the EKG version is the one people actually buy. Theres something about that heartbeat element combined with the butterflies that hits a specific chord with people, I get orders from nurse practitioners, yoga teachers, women buying it as a personal statement piece.
Stitch count is 18,273 at the smallest 2.23x3.51 inches up to 38,826 at 4.79x7.51 inches. Density is 167 which is on the higher side for a 3-colour design -- the silhouette fill is quite dense and directional so it builds a solid block without any fabric showing through. Underlay is a grid pattern under the silhouette, satin stitch on the EKG section, and reduced density on the butterfly wings so they feel lighter than the main figure. Use cutaway stabiliser. The density means lighter fabrics will pull if you use tearaway.
Five sizes, 2.23x3.51 up to 4.79x7.51 inches. Tall format rather than wide, so its naturally suited for shirt chest placements, bag spine panels, or a bookmark-shaped hoop art piece. Last march a customer ordered three of the 4-inch versions for a yoga teacher appreciation gift set, canvas pouches with the design centred on the front, and they turned out beautifully. And its only 3 colour changes so the whole thing stitches out pretty fast even at the larger size. Stitch the 4-inch version on a cotton canvas tote or a denim pouch and the silhouette reads boldly even at that scale.
But the best fabric Ive seen it on is a medium-weight bamboo jersey for a yoga or activewear top -- use a cutaway stabiliser and hoop it gently on a folded panel before attaching, the pulse line detail is what really stands out on stretch fabrics.
What people are using this design for

- Motivational journal fabric cover3-inch on a fabric journal cover, tearaway on cotton base works fine at this stitch density.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
