The heart shape here isnt a clean outline, its built from botanical elements placed end-to-end: daisy-style flowers with petalled centres, broad leaves overlapping each other, and vine stems that curl and connect. The clusters are heavier at the bottom and along the sides, and the top-right of the heart stays open rather than closing fully. That open gap is what gives it some visual breathing room and keeps it from looking too enclosed.
Everything is pure running stitch in a single black thread, no fill stitches anywhere. Density is only 141, it runs very light and the design sits almost like a pen sketch on the fabric. This works especially well on natural fibres like linen or cotton muslin where that sketchy quality reads as intentional, it really complements that kind of fabric. Dont use topping here either, the stitch detail is fine enough that topping can interfere with the outline clarity.
Nine sizes run from 2.98x3.50 up to 6.37x7.50 inches, stitch counts 3,700 to 6,735. Use a tearaway or water-soluble stabiliser on most fabrics, the light stitch count means cutaway is overkill for most applications. Pick a light-coloured base fabric or leave the hoop as a framed piece since black thread on white reads really cleanly. Skip dark fabrics for this one, the running-stitch lines are too light to read on navy or black. A customer last week sent me a photo of this framed in a 6-inch hoop and hung above a bedside table, looked great.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Framed embroidery hoop wall art for a bedroomWedding favour handkerchief corner at 3 inches, the single-thread line art reads as an illustration rather than embroidery on fine cotton
- Linen handkerchiefs as wedding favour giftsLinen shirt breast pocket at the smallest 2.98-inch size, the sketchy botanical lines complement the organic texture of linen without competing
- Shirt pocket or collar placements on natural fabricsJournal cover on fabric-bound notebook: stitch on cotton muslin and wrap around a hardback, the open top-right gap frames a personalised monogram nicely
- Pillowcase corners for a botanical bedroom setPillowcase corner set with one in each corner at 4 inches, the botanical elements feel like pressed flowers when stitched in a single dark thread
- Tote bags in natural canvas or linenFramed 6-inch hoop in white linen for a bedroom wall, the running-stitch lines catch light differently at morning versus evening which gives it life
- Baby blanket corner accentsBaby blanket binding accent at the smallest size: the low density means no stiffness along the edge where the blanket folds
- Quilt blocks for a floral-themed quiltQuilt block border on a botanical quilt where each block uses a different corner rotation of this design to build a wreath pattern

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
