Its a crescent moon shape but with a womans face profile built into the inner curve, closed lashes, small nose, just enough to read as a serene feminine face without getting fussy about it. The left outer edge of the crescent is stacked with large open roses and a few smaller blooms and leaf shapes climbing up and down the curve. Then on the right, where the pointed upper tip ends, theres a big butterfly sitting with wings open, and inside those wings are little crescent and star and dot cutout shapes. The whole composition runs from top to bottom in one connected silhouette.

Thats alot going on and Ive watched customers doubt it at the small size, but the 3.5-inch actually holds up well because Wilcom keeps the line weights consistent across sizes and the fine detail on the face doesnt fall apart. The 7.5-inch is where the full roses and the butterfly wing detail really open up, you can see every petal layer and every star dot inside the wings. Last spring one customer stitched the 6-inch onto a black velvet cushion cover and the way the white cutouts caught the light on the butterfly wings was realy something to see.

Hoop it on velvet, denim, canvas or medium-weight linen for best results. Skip light fabrics like thin cotton voile because at 40k stitches on the biggest size theres alot of thread going down and the fabric can warp. Use a proper medium-weight cutaway stabiliser and dont skimp on the hoop tension or the rose petal edges lose their sharpness. Add a topping on any napped surface like velvet so the satin fills sit on top of the pile not into it.

Pop in a 75/11 or 80/12 sharp needle and let the underlay run fully before the colour fill sequence comes in. The face profile detail needs a clean underlay pass or the lash lines blur, the digitising has that built in so just trust it and hoop tight and it comes out clean every time.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
