The octopus has this big round balloon-body shape in soft lavender, sitting centre frame with long tentacles curling outward underneath. The face has oversized eyes with long lash rows on the upper lids and a small curved smile. On top of the head theres a flower crown with pink blossoms and grey-blue leaf sprigs tucked in around them. One tentacle reaches up and holds a tiny smiling starfish with a red dot pattern. The whole design is gentle and round, nothing spiky or sharp anywhere, its pure nursery softness.

8 colours, 9 sizes. Smallest at 3.5 by 3.39 inches with 18,395 stitches, biggest at 7.5 by 7.26 inches at 50,046 stitches. The round pale body fill uses a soft low-density tatami so it doesnt look stiff, and the flower crown petals use satin column fills in two pink tones to give them shape. Wilcom digitised the tentacle outlines with a satin edge stitch so the curled tips stay crisp even at the 3 in start end. Genuinely clean digitising, the colour changes sit at 8 total, thats an easy session.

I get this one ordered mostly for under-the-sea or ocean nursery themes. People doing whole room sets, a matching cot bumper, a cushion and a bib all in the same design. One customer wrote me this spring saying she stitched it on a pale mint onesie set for her newborn and it was the sweetest thing in the whole nursery. That kind of message makes the whole job worth it honestly.

Use white, cream, pale mint or soft lemon as the ground, the soft lavender tone needs a light neutral to read true. On ivory or oatmeal linen it takes on a warmer tone which is also lovely for a more muted nursery palette. Skip dark backgrounds, those pink blossoms wash out on anything navy or charcoal and the whole crown vanishes into the fabric. Pop the smaller sizes on bibs and onesies and the bigger on cushions or framed hoop art.

Density is gentle at 919, so jersey fabrics and knit onesies handle it fine with a good cutaway stabiliser underneath. Hoop snug and use a water-soluble topping over minky or fleece to stop the satin petals sinking. Dont rush the tentacle section when positioning the fabric in the hoop, those curved tips are the trickiest bit to keep inside the frame. And message me if anything looks off when it stitches out and Ill fix it same day.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
