The contrast between the solid wing and airy filigree side is the whole hook.

Pop a no-show mesh cutaway behind silk or any delicate fabric, the heavy filled wing will sink through woven silks without proper backing. Use medium tearaway under cotton woven, firm cutaway under any knit. Stitch the 4 inch on a tee chest panel. Embroider the 6 inch on the back of a denim jacket centre panel. Drop the 7 inch as a centrepiece on a linen tote front. Best results come on cream, oat, white, sage or pale lavender fabric where the black silhouette reads punchy. Skip black grounds because the wing vanishes into the fabric and the floral filigree disappears completely.
