Three things happening at once in this one and somehow it doesnt feel cluttered. The skull is the anchor in the middle, but its competing with a skeletal hand throwing a rock-on sign off to the left, a butterfly lifting away above it, and a big loose rose cluster blowing in from the right in orange and coral thread. Theres energy to it, like a band tee design that actually took effort to create rather than just slap together.

3 colours and 2 color changes. The coral-red R224 builds up the rose blooms in the first stop, then orange fills the secondary flower detail, then black does everything else: the skull, the hand, the butterfly, the linework. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitised the roses with layered satin at density 565, so each petal has that dimensional overlap quality rather than looking flat. 34 trims, which is low for a 3-colour piece, because the rose sections flow continuously between bloom groups.

5 sizes from 4 inches to 8 inches. Smallest at 13,845 stitches, largest at 33,497. The 4-inch is already surprisingly detailed but the 8-inch is where this design was meant to live. One customer grabbed the 8-inch file last october for a custom denim jacket commission and told me it was the boldest thing shed ever stitched out, and I believed her when she sent photos. Use the full 8-inch wherever youve got the panel space, nothing about this design works at a timid scale.

Use a cutaway stabiliser, medium weight, no exceptions on denim or canvas. The skeletal hand has fine satin column fingers that need solid backing or the tip stitches wander. Avoid topping on smooth denim, it gets trapped under the bloom layers and makes cleanup a pain. Pick threads with good twist on the coral stop, loosely wound thread wont get the satin sheen you want on that first colour.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Denim jacket back panel centrepieceThe 8-inch version on a denim jacket back is the primary intended placement, fills the panel without crowding the shoulders.
  • Rock music fan custom band-style teeStitch the 5-inch on a black tee chest for a rock-fan aesthetic, the hand sign makes the attitude unmistakable.
  • Gothic Halloween costume jacket pieceThe 6-inch on a costume jacket for halloween reads boldly from a distance, especially with the orange rose contrast.
  • Large canvas tote statement frontUse the 7-inch on a black canvas tote front, the three-colour rose cluster makes it eye-catching at markets.
  • Festival-wear vest back panelFestival vests in denim or canvas take the full 8-inch size easily, plenty of room on the back panel.
  • Biker-style canvas patch for jacket lapelCut a 4-inch patch from black felt and sew to a lapel or collar, the compact version still has full detail.
  • Art print hoop wall displayMount the 5-inch in a wide oval hoop with black linen backing as a bold, frameable wall piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
