Came up with this floral sugar skull lady for dia de los muertos and its honestly one of the most detailed pieces in the shop. Her face is a white sugar skull decorated with swirls, hearts, little dot patterns and floral motifs around the cheeks. The eye sockets are massive purple daisy flowers with white centres, and theres a tiny red love heart sitting between her brows.

On top sits a proper flower crown, deep red roses on both sides, a big purple daisy off centre, a pink daisy peeking through, sand coloured leaves filling the gaps. Her long black hair flows down both sides in soft directional stitching with grey shading mixed through. One gold and red gem earring dangles from her ear. Behind her head theres a soft orange sun halo radiating outward like sunbeams.

Eleven threads total and the largest size hits 100,121 stitches, this is a proper investment piece, not a quick stitch. Black does the heavy lifting at 27,616 stitches for the hair and outlines, grey adds 10,786 stitches across the hair shading and skull detail, white covers 4,457 on the skull face. I been getting orders for this from customers running dia de los muertos market stalls and one customer in san antonio ordered the 8.5 inch version for her ofrenda altar cloth last november.

Four sizes from 5.5 inches wide up to 8.5 inches, stitch counts 57,069 to 100,121. Theres no small version because the facial decorations need room to read properly. Allow proper stitch time, the biggest takes well over an hour with thread changes.

Stick to heavy fabrics, canvas, denim, twill, heavy cotton, never light jersey, the dense fill will warp anything thin. Use a heavy cutaway stabiliser and consider a topping for the white skull base. Slow the machine speed for the dense purple and black sections. Send a message if the file does not load right, ill resend within hours.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
