A pumpkin shape used as a container, filled from inside with swirling botanical elements. Leaves, stems, tiny flower shapes all curl around inside the pumpkin outline like something grew in there over summer. Its not a carved pumpkin, its more like a decorative gourd from a botanical print. The two colours are a warm burnt orange for the pumpkin body and a deep forest green for all the floral detail work inside.
The botanical layer is where the stitch density really builds. At 603 stitches per square inch the inner fill is proper dense work, the curved swirling lines need that to keep their shape and definition. I run this with a cutaway stabiliser always, the 6.51 by 6.29-inch version especially needs a firm base since the directional satin spans wide across the gourd shape. Total stitch count at the full size reaches 24,687 which stitches out in roughly 18 to 20 minutes on a home machine. Dont skimp on hooping tension here, youll see registration drift in the botanical detail if the base isnt held firm. One customer told me last autumn she had run the full 6.5-in size for a natural linen table runner and it became the centrepiece of the whole table, which I wasnt expecting when she first described what she was planning.
Use it on autumn decor fabric, canvas tote bags, or woven cotton where the orange and green pop cleanly. Avoid stretchy or heavily textured fabric unless you add a water-soluble topping to keep the botanical lines from sinking into the pile. The smallest 3.51-inch size works well on napkins and small pouches with light tearaway stabiliser.
Pair the small version on a pocket panel and the large on a bag front for a matched autumn gift set. Text me if anything in the download looks odd.
