The whale silhouette is all there in a clean navy outline, but the inside isnt solid -- its completely filled with roses, leaves, and small blossoms in a packed floral pattern. Blush pink roses sit alongside dusty mauve ones, sage green leaves fill the gaps, and small cream blossoms dot the spaces between. Ten colours total, and the contrast between that dark perimeter and the pastel floral interior is what makes this one work so well on a neutral background.
Nine size options from 3.5 by 2.73 inches to 7.5 across 5.85 inches wide. Stitch count runs from 17,467 at the smallest to 40,496 at the full size, with density at 923. Wilcom mapped the rose fills with alternating satin directions so adjacent petals dont bleed together -- thats the bit that separates a good floral fill from a muddy one. The outer border stitches last and snaps the whole silhouette into focus.
Best results on a firm woven fabric -- cotton canvas, quilting cotton, or linen. Use a medium cutaway under anything with stretch or the whale curve will distort. The floral fill is dense enough that you dont need a topping on most wovens, but press water-soluble topping on waffle-weave or terry if youre stitching on a textured baby item. A customer who sells whale-themed nursery decor contacted me last spring -- she stocks this design every season for the cot quilt blocks she makes and said the rose detail stays clean even at the smaller 3.5 inch size.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
