Ive had a few customers describe this one as the ghost that actually looks like a ghost, not a round blob, not a cartoon puff, but something that reads like its actually moving. One customer ordered it last october for a set of four halloween towels and said the flowing tail shape was what made them look different from every other ghost shes seen on etsy. The whole composition is 3.09" wide by 3.5" tall, five colours, 13,248 stitches.

Density at 190 puts it in the lighter-medium range, which means it stitches out quicker than the denser pieces in this collection. Tearaway is fine on cotton and canvas, use cutaway if youre going onto knit or fleece. The white satin fill section is large, so add a topping layer of water-soluble stabiliser if youre stitching onto terry cloth or velour, it stops fill threads from sinking into the pile and losing edge definition. Skip the topping on smooth woven and it stitches cleanly without it.

Stitch it on a halloween sweatshirt, a trick-or-treat bag, or a seasonal throw blanket corner, the moderate density makes it fast enough for batch projects. Pop it on a kids onesie using a soft cutaway and it stays comfortable against skin. Add a white underlay pass first when going onto dark fabric so the ghost fill reads fully opaque. The grey shadow shading pass is what lifts it off the fabric surface and gives it movement rather than looking like a flat printed ghost. Smooth. Simple. Done.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween cotton sweatshirt chestHalloween sweatshirt where the flowing tail shape sets this apart from the round-blob ghost designs.
  • Trick-or-treat canvas bagSet of four october kitchen towels, a customer ordered these and said the flowing shape was unlike anything else on etsy at the time.
  • Seasonal throw blanket cornerThrow blanket corner for seasonal home decor, fleece needs topping film or the white satin sinks into the pile.
  • Halloween towel decorationCanvas trick-or-treat bag for a child who asked for a ghost that actually looks like it's moving.
  • Spooky tote bag front panelBaby onesie on soft cutaway, the 190 density keeps it comfortable and it doesnt stiffen the knit after washing.
  • Kids halloween onesie chestGym towel accent for october if you're the kind of person who decorates everything for halloween.
  • Autumn ghost hoop wall artHoop art on linen for a small framed wall piece, the near-square footprint suits a round 4-inch frame nicely.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
