This cat is roughly 80 percent fur and 20 percent enormous eyeballs, which is about the right ratio for something this round. The grey body stitching fans out from the centre in all directions, individual black strand lines breaking up the grey satin fill to give actual texture rather than just a flat patch. Up close it almost looks like real fur, and honestly thats the bit that gets people. I wont pretend those purple irises isnt what sells it though.
The eyes are what you notice first. Big circular irises in deep purple with proper ring shading inside em, white highlights stitched right in the centre so they catch light on fabric. Six colours total, the black thread does a lot of heavy lifting for the fur texture overlay. Four sizes from 4.5 up to 7.5 inches, and the eye detail holds at all of em. Use a cutaway stabiliser because the density at the largest size is 700 and you dont want movement in the hoop.
My cat-loving customers order this one constantly for gift pouches and tote bags. People have been buying it year round but there's a big spike every christmas when everyone wants custom cat gifts. Stitch it on a cream or charcoal cotton ground and the purple eyes really pop against either colour. Swap the purple irises for any thread colour you like too.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Cat lover gifts on tote bags, pouches and pillow coversCat people are enthusiastic gift recipients, a tote or pouch with this on it goes down really well.
- Kids room decor with a fun cartoonish character feelThe cartoon style reads great in a kids bedroom, especially stitched onto a cushion in a fun fabric colour.
- Cat-themed clothing patches for hoodies and sweatshirtsIron-on stabiliser backing and stitch onto a heavy patch blank, then sew onto jacket or hoodie.
- Cat cafe merchandise and pet shop branded itemsCat cafes and independent pet shops love branded merch, and this style works better than a realistic photo.
- Halloween cat designs on bags and table runnersThe wide eyes and dark colour palette translates naturally into halloween decor without any modifications.
- Custom gifts for friends who are obsessed with their catsThat friend who sends cat videos every morning. This is literally for them.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
