Back in spring I put this one together for customers who wanted something that worked on quilted bags and also on clothing without looking too cottagecore or too plain. The two-colour scheme -- blush pink and sage green -- is intentional; you get colour contrast without needing to do multiple thread changes mid-run. Nine sizes from 4.1 to 7.49 inches wide, and stitch counts run from 9,055 at the smallest up to 24,677, which is manageable even on a home machine with a decent stabiliser setup.

The density is 439, which is medium-light, so it sits nicely on spring and summer fabrics -- lightweight denim, linen, cotton canvas -- without distorting the weave. Stitch it on a cutaway stabiliser for anything with stretch, tearaway for wovens. The butterflies are positioned so the wing satin sections are directional -- they actually catch the light slightly differently than the fill sections, which gives the piece some depth even with just two colours. Use a 75/11 needle and good quality polyester or rayon thread for the pink, those petals look washed out if the thread quality is low.

I get messages from people who use this on spring table runners, and one customer wrote me last week saying she did it on a quilted kitchen apron and her whole market stall loved it. The flowers and butterflies are set close enough together that it reads as a cohesive scene, not just scattered elements -- I know thats sometimes a concern with designs that have multiple subjects in em, but its not an issue here. Pop it on a tearaway stabiliser on quilting cotton for test, check the butterfly wing outlines are crisp before you commit to the final item.

Email me if you need the colours flipped or want send me your hoop size and Ill check it fits correctly.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
