Theres something about gnomes holding sports equipment that just works every time. This lil fella has a tall red pointy hat, a massive bushy beard that takes up most of his body, and hes clutching a football with both hands like hes about to make a very important play. The football itself has the classic stitching lines stitched in white thread so its clearly readable.

Nine colours and nine sizes, smallest is 3.5 by 2.71 inches and largest stretches to 7.5 by 5.8. Stitch count goes from 14,415 all the way up to around 36,993 stitches on the big version. That density of 850 means the beard especially fills in nicely with solid coverage, no see-through patches.

I get a bunch of orders for this one in September and October every year, its basically my football season staple. A customer last year stitched a whole set of matching team tote bags and sent me a photo, looked great on navy canvas with white and red colours.

Use cutaway stabiliser since the beard area is dense satin and tatami fill. Pair it on medium-weight fleece, denim, or canvas for the best results. Stitch slowly through the beard section if your machine tends to skip stitches on high-density fills.

Pop it on a jersey, a stadium cushion, a game day tote, or even a kids sweatshirt. Nine colour changes so keep your thread organised before you start. Ping me if you need a different size or have questions about the file.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Sports-themed kids backpacksKids love gnomes and sports together, so this on a canvas backpack is a solid back-to-school season gift.
  • Tailgate party apronsOn a cotton or canvas apron the gnome adds a fun touch for tailgate grilling setups at home games.
  • Football fan gift towelsA small version stitched on a cotton hand towel in team colours makes an easy football season gift.
  • Team spirit wall hoopsStitched on a natural linen hoop and hung near the TV it becomes a seasonal decor piece during football season.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
