The main burst sits centre and its big, long rays shooting out to small star tips at the ends. Then three smaller bursts fill the space around it at different angles, none of them perfectly symmetrical which is whats makes it feel like the real sky rather than a logo. Lil pops of light scattered through the cluster.
4 colour build with red for the biggest burst, navy on one of the secondaries, white on another, and the accent tone finishing the tips. Stitched area goes 4 to 8 inches across, 5 sizes total. Stitch count is 10,725 at the smallest and 23,465 for the full 8 inch piece. The burstiness of the ray layout means theres alot of jump stitches between rays so expect about 4 thread trims per size.
I sell a bunch of these every June and July. Customers who do festive tees and matching holiday pyjamas love this one because it reads as fireworks without needing any text alongside it. One customer told me she doesnt bother putting text on holiday family sets anymore, just this on the chest and its enough.
Pop it on a navy or black shirt and the rays really stand out off the fabric. On a white base it reads softer, more vintage poster style.
Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton, cutaway on jersey knit or fleece. The thin rays need a stable base or they shift in the hoop. Hoop your fabric not the stabiliser alone.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- 4th of July matching family teesA 6 inch version centred on a navy tee gives the holiday party shirt look without needing any text alongside.
- Holiday pyjama setsOn matching pyjama sets the fireworks burst reads great in white on navy fabric for a holiday night set.
- Patriotic canvas tote bagsOn a canvas tote bag with a name alongside it makes a personalised 4th of july gift that gets reused.
- Kids 4th of July party shirtsThe 4 inch version on a kids plain shirt is big enough to read but not so large it overwhelms a small chest.
- Custom patriotic giftsStitched on a white tea towel in the corner it makes a festive patriotic gift that doesnt cost alot.
- Festive table runner accentsA row of small versions along a table runner edge gives a holiday table setting a festive stitch detail.
- Patriotic school event wearOn a plain shirt for a school colour day or flag day event it reads patriotic without being too specific.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
