Eighteen colours on a chicken. Thats what I tell people when they ask how long this took to digitise. The tail feather section alone has six colour stops, and getting each plume to read as a separate feather at the small sizes was a proper challenge. At 3.5 inches youre at 1,035 stitches, and at the largest 7.5-inch version its 74,408, and that density of 205 means every colour zone stitches out rich and solid with no gaps.
I built this one in Wilcom with directional satin angles on each tail feather so they catch the light differently. Text me if you want me to walk through the colour sequence, thats the part that takes the most planning with an 18-colour file. The body underlay is a full flood pass to lock the creamy white base before the detail layers come in. Back it with fusible mesh under on everything, even woven cotton, the stitch density will pull the fabric if its not hooped solid.
One customer ordered this for a farm-themed hen party gift set. Suprised me how well it reads on a teal base fabric, the red comb really pops and the white body holds its colour without blending into a light background. Add water-soluble topping on any textured or loopy fabric so the beak and eye details don't get lost in the fibre. Use a 75/11 needle for the comb and face stops and a 80/12 for the main body fill passes.
Pick a mid-tone base fabric, not too pale, not too dark, and this chicken delivers every time. Send a note if the file has an issue and Ill fix it for you right away. Text me a chat if the file misbehaves and Ill rework the punch.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
