Two cartoon chickens, side by side, one leaning into the other like they've been together alot of years and dont care who knows it. The rooster's got that slightly puffed-up posture, rust-coloured feathers going directional from chest to tail, and a butter yellow comb that flops just a little to the left. The hen's a bit smaller, same colour family, wattles in scarlet satin against the softer underlay feathers. Theres a looseness to the poses that makes them read as a couple instantly, even without text.
Wilcom EmbroideryStudio mapped the feather layers cleanly, keeping the satin sections on the combs and wattles crisp at all 5 sizes without going stiff at a density of 1281. The largest runs to 7.51 inches wide and 62,827 stitches, so you want a proper hooped setup with cutaway stabiliser underneath. But the smallest at 3.51 inches still holds the character, which isnt always easy with cartoon birds that have alot of detail in the face.
One customer grabbed the 5-inch size last spring for a set of matching tea towels as a housewarming gift, and sent me a note saying the recipient burst out laughing. And if you want something that actually gets a reaction rather than just blending in, these two deliver. The 11-colour thread palette means more stops, so Stitch through the sequence once on a scrap before you commit to good fabric. Pair it with a light-coloured linen or cotton for best contrast on those rust tones.
Use a yellow kid tee for the smaller sizes, or Pop the big one onto a kitchen apron where the two chickens sit right at chest height. Run a press cloth over the finished piece if your fabric is prone to shine from the iron.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Kids' t-shirts and onesies for farm-theme birthdaysThe smaller 3.51-inch size fits neatly on a chest pocket or front panel of a toddler tee without overpowering the garment.
- Kitchen aprons as a gift for a chicken-keeping friendThe 5-inch version centres well on an apron bib and holds up to repeated washing when stitched on cotton canvas with cutaway backing.
- Matching tea towel sets for housewarming presentsTwo tea towels with the same design make a simple, personal gift that people actually use rather than put away.
- Tote bags for farmers markets and country fairsNatural cotton canvas totes take the rust and butter yellow thread colours well without any colour distortion.
- Cushion covers for a farmhouse-style living roomA 7-inch version on a plain linen cushion cover gives just enough visual weight to anchor a farmhouse shelf or couch corner.
- Baby bibs for a barnyard nursery themeSoft-washed cotton bibs take the smaller size easily, and the bold colours stay bright after regular washing.
- Denim jackets with a back-pocket accent patchThe medium 5-inch size patches onto denim without needing a full hoop swap, and the high stitch density keeps it flat against the fabric.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
