This bird is genuinely having the worst morning. Big round googly eyes sit dead centre in the face, each one with a grey iris and a white highlight dot that makes the thing look completely shocked. Below that is a flat pale sand-coloured beak sitting horizontal like its not sure what to say. Everything else is just feathers exploding outward in every direction, spiked and messy, black-tipped and grey-bodied, radiating out from the face like a cartoon character whos just been surprised by something.

Five colours total: cream grey body fill, sand beak, light grey mid-feather tone, white highlights on the eyes, black for all the feather tips and outlines. Wilcom ran the feather spikes with proper directional stitching so they point outward like real ruffled plumage, not just flat triangles. Density averages 908, so this is a chunky stitch-out. Biggest size at 7.51 inches wide hits 42,896 stitches. Smallest is 17,180 at 3.51 inches. Four colour changes, which is manageable for a five-colour design.

Ok so I get notes about this one every couple of weeks from people doing novelty apron sets and kids party bags. One customer ordered a dozen and put them on black canvas pouches for a farm-themed birthday party and said the kids absolutely lost it when they saw em. Thats kind of the whole point here, its supposed to make people laugh.

Try it on black, navy, or charcoal fabric where the light grey and cream feathers jump forward. Works on white too but the cream tones blend slightly on pale grounds, so darker really is better here. Back it with cutaway with film top, the density needs it, especially on the feather-spike zone around the outer edges. Hoop with a topping on anything with texture. Reach me if the file runs into trouble running and Ill resend a working copy.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
