This ladybug is kinda the happiest bug Ive ever digitised. Big round body in bright red with bold black spots, tiny stubby legs that barely touch the ground, and this wide goofy grin that takes up half the face. The eyes are huge and cartoon-style with white highlight dots, and theres pink blush circles on each cheek. Alot of character packed into alittle bug.
5 sizes from 3.26 inches up to 6.98 inches wide, and the stitch count runs from about 22,858 up to 62,482. Thats a dense design, 14 colours and 1,194 density, so its got proper weight and dimension when it comes off the hoop. The outlines are done in thick satin so the cartoon character look stays crisp even on textured fabric.
And I get messages about this one constantly from people making kids stuff. My daughter had it on her backpack and her whole class wanted one. Its been one of my best sellers for birthday season. Best results on cotton, denim, canvas or fleece. The thick outlines handle fleece really well actually.
Use a cutaway stabiliser here. With 14 colour changes and that stitch density you dont want any shifting mid-stitch. Skip stretchy knits for the larger sizes, the design needs something solid to anchor into. Pick navy or cream fabric and the red shell just pops right off the surface.
