Sketched out this llama wearing a proper Andean chullo hat and it kinda just came out looking genuinely funny. The hat is genuinely the star of it. Tall, red, geometric pattern band near the brim, two thick braids with big tassels hanging down on either side. The llama underneath is grinning like it knows exactly how ridiculous it looks. Its the kind of design where people see it on a project and they cant stop laughing.

2 colours: Red for the hat body, braids and tassels, Black for all the outline work, teeth, eye detail and the geometric band pattern. 1 colour change, 65 trims, density around 575 stitches per square inch and that keeps the hat satin sections looking solid and dimensional. Digitising done in my standard software. Four sizes from 5 inches up to 8 inches wide, stitch count from 15,448 to 25,674.

Last winter a customer hooped the 6-inch file on a grey fleece beanie and it was honestly perfect placement, the red hat just pops against the grey. Use a heavy cutaway stabiliser underneath fleece and knitwear, the dense satin on the hat sections needs it. Add a layer of topping if youre going onto textured fabric so the hat details stay sharp and dont sink into the pile.

Reach out if anything needs adjusting with the file and Ill sort it. Stitch it on winter hats, scarves, kids jackets, gift bags. Basically anything going into a cold-weather gift set.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Winter beanie or slouch hat embroidery for kidsThe 6-in build lands cleanly on an adult beanie front without distortion, and the red hat on grey fleece combination looks great.
  • Christmas gift bag with quirky llama themeA white paper gift bag stitched with this in the 4-inch size tied off with red ribbon is a fast Christmas project.
  • Kids winter jacket or hoodie chest patchPop it on a navy or charcoal kids zip-up and the red hat really jumps out against the dark background.
  • Funny holiday card holder or wall hanging hoopHooped in a 7-inch frame on natural linen it reads as folk art, which is kinda what the hat design references anyway.
  • Peruvian or South America themed party decorIf youre making a llama-themed party backdrop or banner panels this grinning face adds some real personality.
  • Scarf end panel embroidery in red and blackStitch the 5-inch version near the tip of a cream knit scarf for a funny winter accessory that people actually comment on.
  • Tote bag for a llama lover or alpaca fanThe compact head portrait fits nicely on the front pocket of a canvas tote without overwhelming the whole bag.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
