Sketched this one out for people who are into that spooky-meets-cute thing. Its a simple heartbeat line going across the whole design, and sitting right on that line is a lil ghost, kinda kinda scribbled looking in black, with tiny dot eyes. On the right side where the EKG spikes up, it resolves into a small open heart outline instead of just a flat peak. Simple idea, really clearly reads at distance.

Two colours: orange (R255 G90 B1) and black. This is a horizontally oriented design, so at the smallest size its 3.50 inches wide by only 1.21 inches tall, which makes it really well suited for cuffs, waistbands, and narrow borders. The largest goes to 7.50 by 2.60 inches. Stitch counts stay low, 2,962 at the smallest, 6,727 at the biggest. Low density at 345 means you can get away with tearaway stabiliser on most woven fabrics. Run it on cotton jersey with light cutaway and itll hold fine aswell. Stitch the small 3.5-inch size along a sleeve cuff with just a strip of tearaway and youre done in under 10 minutes. Skip the heavy cutaway on thin fabrics, its overkill for this stitch count. Add a stabiliser topping if youre doing this on a textured knit so the ghost outline stays sharp.

Had a customer grab this for a hospital-shift scrub-top run last october, which is the kind of placement it was made for. One customer ran the 5-inch version along the hem of a black long-sleeve shirt and said it was the only halloween top she had that actually looked intentional. Reach out if you need me to resize outside the 5 included sizes, Im usually pretty quick with custom requests in October.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween shirt sleeve cuffs and hemsThe narrow 1.21-inch height makes it ideal for stitching along a cuff or collar edge
  • Trick-or-treat bag front panelsFits neatly across the front panel of a small kids trick-or-treat bag
  • Spooky season tote bagsRun it along the bottom of a tote bag as a border strip at the 7-inch wide size
  • Halloween pillowcase bordersWorks beautifully as a repeating border around a pillowcase edge
  • Nurse or doctor halloween costume shirtsPerfect for the medical or nurse halloween costume crew who wants something subtle
  • Kids halloween pyjamas and onesiesThe small ghost reads clearly even at 3.5 inches on thin jersey with light tearaway

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
