Pulled this together as a halloween scene rather than just a single subject, and thats what makes it different from most ghost designs in my catalogue. Comes in 3 sizes from 3.5 inches up. The ghost is the main figure, floating large in the upper portion, and below it theres a row of tiny haunted houses with peaked rooftops and bare skeletal trees at the ground line. The whole thing looks like a panel from a vintage ghost story illustration book. 3 sizes, smallest at 3.5 inches wide and 3.48 inches tall.

Single colour all the way through, 1 thread change. Density is 653 and its sits nicely on cream or white cotton because the slate grey thread gives the whole scene that aged lithograph look. Stitch counts go from 12,201 up to 19,691 across the 3 sizes. Heights top out at 5.48 inches, so the proportions are almost square. Mapped through Wilcom EmbroideryStudio. The haunted house row uses tight satin fill on the window and door cutouts so they actually read as architectural features even at the 3.5-inch hoop size. Dont skip the satin column detail on the windows or theyll just merge into the wall fill.

One customer stitched the 5.5-inch on a cream heavyweight cotton tee last halloween and said the ghost colour on cream made it look like it was fading into the fabric, which I honestly thought was a great observation because it realy does look like a ghost coming through the cloth rather than sitting on top. Try the slate village thread on cream linen for the strongest version of that effect.

Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton or linen since the stitch count is moderate and stays under 20,000 even at the largest. Avoid hooping dark fabrics since the single slate thread loses contrast against navy or charcoal. Cream, oatmeal, sand and white are the fabrics this design belongs on. Pop it on a cream linen pillow cover or a white cotton tee for october.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
