Pulled together a gingerbread house with a warm brown body and white drip icing along the roofline. The dome-shaped body is a dense tatami fill that reads as actual gingerbread texture. The roof edge has a white drip-style icing border in satin sections, the bumpy uneven kind that looks hand-piped. I get messages from customers saying its one of the more detailed designs theyve stitched, and honestly thats fair given the candy count.

The door is a candy cane, two twisted red and white stripes forming an arch in the front wall centre. On either side sit three large peppermint rounds, each one a circle fill with a white spiral satin overlay giving the classic pinwheel look. String light bulbs line the roofline in blue, amber and green, tiny elongated satin ovals on a thin running stitch strand. Scattered across the front: small candy dots in red and green, and four teal snowflakes with fine backstitch that keeps them light and airy.

Five colours total, and it looks way busier than that because of how the decorations layer up. Density sits at 531 stitches per square inch, topping out at 24,251 on the 6.09 by 7.5 inch version. Use a medium cutaway on most wovens and switch to tearaway on tightly woven cotton for a cleaner back. Dont skip the test sew-out on the peppermint rounds, the spiral overlay is a separate colour stop and some software reorders stops on import. Skip very textured fleece for this one, the spiral detail disappears into deep pile.

Smallest size is 2.84 by 3.5 inches, sized right for a gift tag or stocking cuff. Use medium-weight cotton twill, canvas or linen. White or cream fabrics show the colour most clearly, pale sage or oatmeal work well with the warm brown tones. A customer ordered the large on a cream canvas apron last december as a baking-day gift and it came out looking great according to the photos she sent.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
