Round glasses sitting on a giraffe. Its a simple idea but it really works because the proportions are all kawaii: oversized head, big friendly eyes, the tiny ossicones on top, and then those little round frames perched on the muzzle. Cant help but smile at it honestly. Eight colours bring it together: golden yellow as the main coat, warm orange spots scattered across, soft brown on the muzzle edges, a white muzzle patch, black glass frames, dark brown pupils, and a couple of accent tones for the eyelash detail and horn tips.

Stitch count opens at 12,974 on the 3.5-inch wide size and reaches 35,753 on the full 7.49-inch version. Density sits at 859 which keeps the satin fills firm and the spot pattern crisp. Started this one in Wilcom which helped me get the directional underlay right under the gold coat, so the satin runs smooth without showing through the open areas. One customer who got this last summer tried the 5-inch run on a yellow kids tee and said the giraffe face nearly disappeared into the matching background colour, thats funny but also a fair lesson: pick a contrasting base fabric.

Best on white, cream, pale mint, or light blue cotton. Avoid yellow or orange fabric, its obvious why. Pop a medium cutaway behind jersey or knit base cloth before hooping. Use a tearaway stabiliser behind regular woven cotton and the stitching time on the mid-size versions stays short. Hoop square and keep the face centred, the oversized eyes are what the design hinges on and you want them level.

Run the 3.5 piece on a kids book bag or water bottle pocket. Try a 5 or 6-inch run on a cushion cover for a childs room. Add the full 7.49-inch design to a tote bag front panel as a fun statement piece. Dont use dark backgrounds unless you want those black glasses frames to vanish into the fabric.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids clothing chest and sleeve placementThe 4-inch version sits perfectly centred on a kids tee chest with the big eyes reading clearly from a distance.
  • Childrens backpack and school bag panelsKawaii giraffe on a school backpack front panel is a popular request from customers buying for 4 to 8 year olds.
  • Nursery or kids room cushion coversStitched on a cream cushion cover in a safari-themed nursery this works as a sweet character centrepiece.
  • Cotton tote bags for kids or teachersThe golden yellow and orange spot palette pops nicely on white cotton totes for teachers or parents.
  • Baby shower gift items in a giraffe nursery themeIn a giraffe-themed nursery the design on a muslin backing in a 7-inch hoop makes an instant wall decoration.
  • Baseball caps and beanies front panelThe 3.5-inch size on a beanie or cap front gives just enough detail without looking crowded on a small panel.
  • Iron-on patches for denim or canvasDense satin on cotton canvas makes a clean iron-on patch that survives regular wear and washing well.
  • Framed hoop art for a safari-themed bedroomHoop-mounted on cream linen the oversized eyes give the piece a gallery-quality kawaii illustration feel.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
