Its just two silhouettes and a little red heart and somehow that combination completely nails the whole dog-owner feeling. The girl is seated cross-legged, leaning forward slightly, and the dog is sitting upright to her right facing her, and their foreheads are touching. No details, no fur texture, just the pure black shape of the two of them in profile and this small red filled heart floating right above the point where they meet. Simple. Quiet. Instantly readable.
Two colours total, black and red. The black body fill is a flat dense satin pass, nice and even across both figures, no density issues even on the smallest 2.12-inch size. The red heart is a tiny satin fill shape, 207 stitches on the smallest size, and theres only 1 colour change in the whole sequence which means fast machine time. Low stitch count at the smallest sizes, 2,478 stitches, and the biggest 4.67-inch tops out at 9,218 so this one stitches fast no matter which size ya pick. Its genuinely one of the quickest designs in my whole catalogue.
My niece send me message last valentines day asking for a gift for her friend who just lost her dog. We made it on a soft white linen cushion cover, the black silhouette in the centre and nothing else. Her friend cried. Thats the reaction I keep getting from this one, it lands differently from any cute cartoon dog design, its quieter and more personal.
Stitch this on white, cream, oatmeal or any pale solid for the clearest read. The silhouette needs contrast, so skip anything mid-toned or patterned. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven cotton or linen, the stitch count is low enough that you dont need cutaway here. Pop the small 2.5-inch on a shirt pocket, the 4.67-inch on a tote face or cushion panel.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
