Girl kneeling down with her arms wrapped around a dogs neck, the dog leaning into the hug. Its a simple scene and thats exactly why it works, the pose is instantly recognisable to anyone who has a dog they love. The composition is wider than tall because of the horizontal embrace, sitting around 3.49 inches wide at the small end and 7.48 inches across at full size. The design uses just 3 thread colours and relies on clean satin outline work and directional fill to carry the detail rather than lots of colour changes. Mapped in Wilcom, density at 921 which gives the outline sections solid coverage without the fills becoming stiff on mid-weight fabric.
9 sizes, heights running from 2.43 inches up to 5.21 inches tall while the width spans 3.49 to 7.48. Stitch counts go from 13,904 on the small run up to 35,880 at the biggest. Only 3 colours means the machine barely stops, wich is nice when youre doing a batch of gift items at once. A customer who makes custom pet portrait gifts told me earlier this year she gets this design requested alongside personalised name text more than almost anything else in her range, the hug scene is just something dog owners connect with right away.
Press a thick backer under denim or canvas because the density at 921 needs proper backing to keep the hug outline crisp during stitching. Use tearaway under tightly woven cotton shirts and the edges pull clean. Pair with a name or short text below in a script font if the customer wants the dogs name added, the wide landscape shape leaves room below the figures for a text line. Avoid placing on very light grey or beige if your thread colours include similar tones, pick a contrasting background so the girl and dog silhouette separates cleanly from the fabric base.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
