Shes got her glasses on, both hair buns pinned with little pink flowers, sitting cross-legged on the floor fully absorbed in a blush-pink-covered book. The cat is right beside her looking outward with the absolute serenity of a cat who knows theyre in charge of the household. The two characters arent looking at each other and thats exactly right, its just two beings in the same space doing their own thing together.

12 colours and the hair texture is the technical highlight. Wilcom used directional short fills in at least 2 shades of warm chestnut brown to get that wavy curl texture on the buns, similar to how hand-drawn hair looks in illustration rather than a flat colour block. The white cat has light grey stripe details, the kind of colouring that requires careful density management to stay visible without overwhelming the adjacent blush skin tones.

A mum ordered this for her daughter last july, wanted it on a bedroom cushion. She asked if Id do a version with red hair and I had to explain thats not how it works with a fixed file, but she went ahead with the warm brown and said her daughter was suprised to get it, called it her mini-me. That was probably my favourite order message from that whole summer.

Stitch this on pale pink, cream, soft sage, or light grey fabric and the warm blush and brown tones sit against the neutral ground perfectly. Avoid busy patterns or dark fabric since the sketch-line quality of the outlines needs clear contrast to read. Use cutaway stabiliser for this stitch count, tearaway will shift under 62,611 stitches at the larger sizes. Keep medium speed on the hair fill sections and the result is clean every time.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
