Sketched out the witch coven piece with a real woodcut storybook feel. Five hooded witches stand in a row, each in a pointy brim hat, robes flowing down into the wild grass. Behind em a full moon glows pale and bare dead trees reach up either side like skeleton fingers. The slogan banner sits across the bottom in a bold ribbon.

Density gets serious here. Theres nearly 19 thousand black stitches on the small size alone for all the fine cross hatched shading on robes and tree branches. The white moon and grey midtones build up depth so the moon almost looks lit from behind, not just printed flat.

I worked this up last halloween for a small etsy seller who does friend group shirts. She told me shes sold 60 matching tees to one bachelorette weekend, the bride loved the slogan because her bridesmaids all wore witch hats to the party. Customer reorders keep coming and Im not suprised.

5 from a 3.5 hoop across to a 7.5 top, biggest works on tote backs and sweatshirt panels. Skip anything under 4 inches because the witches faces get muddy when you shrink the linework that small. Stitches cleanest on a midweight cotton tee in cream, dusty pink, sage, or black where the moon realy pops.

Use cutaway stabiliser, the design is heavy. Hoop tight and slow the machine a touch on the dense black sections. Text me through the shop if you need a recolour for blonde or red hair tones, ill swap em out fast and youll have the new file by the next morning.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Bachelorette witch party teesBachelorette weekend matching tees where the coven of five witches literally mirrors the friend group under the same moon.
  • Halloween group sweatshirtsIndie bookstore staff aprons through october, customers ask where they bought the design before they finish browsing.
  • Spooky season tote bagsFriend group matching hoodies for a halloween bar crawl, the slogan hits differently when four people walk in wearing it.
  • Friend coven matching hoodiesHalloween group sweatshirts for school staff, the woodcut gothic style suits a staffroom mood rather than a classroom costume.
  • Witchy bookstore staff apronsCoffee shop seasonal merch tees for the spooky season window, the coven scene draws customers through the glass.
  • Coffee shop halloween merchPlus size oversized tee front at the largest version, the chest fills properly without the design looking shrunken.
  • Plus size oversized tee frontsBlanket binding strip idea aside, this reads best as a chest panel piece on a canvas tote for the school trick or treat round.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
