The gnome is peering over the top of a big coffee mug, his nose and the tip of his hat just clearing the rim, with steam rising off the hot coffee behind him. Its exactly the right amount of silly. Five sizes from 3.51 inches up to 7.51 wide, so it fits a shirt pocket accent at the small end and a full front-of-apron piece at the large.

Eight colours across the design, the mug itself uses 3 of those for the body, the handle, and the liquid surface, the gnome takes the rest. Stitch count runs from 18,353 on the smallest to 45,299 on the largest, its proper dense work at that scale. The cup body uses tatami fill with directional stitching so the ceramic surface has some depth to it, not just flat coverage. Use a cutaway stabiliser, the density demands it.

I sell alot of these to coffee shop owners and baristas who want something for aprons and staff shirts, the gnome mug combo just works for that crowd. A customer in november ordered a set of 6 on kitchen tea towels as christmas gifts for her whole family, she said everyone was suprised how detailed it looked in person. The steam wisps are the detail people notice first, done in light satin, they really make it look warm.

Stitch it on aprons, kitchen towels, tote bags, sweatshirts. Navy, black, rust, cream, and white all work well as base colours, the coffee cup browns and greens of the hat read against most solid backgrounds. Use cutaway on fleece and denim, tearaway on woven cotton apron fabric. Send message if you cant get it open and Ill help sort it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Coffee shop staff apronsThe 5 to 6 inch version on an apron bib is the most popular use, works for coffee shop staff or home kitchen aprons.
  • Kitchen tea towels and gift setsStitch on a set of linen or cotton kitchen tea towels and package them as a coffee lover holiday gift set.
  • Barista gift tote bagsA medium size on a canvas tote makes a thoughtful barista or coffee lover gift that they'll actually use.
  • Coffee lover sweatshirtsCentred on a grey or navy sweatshirt chest it reads as a fun coffee-themed everyday wear piece.
  • Cafe branded merchandiseFor small cafe merchandise, stitch on tote bags or aprons with a consistent placement for a branded look.
  • Morning routine novelty mugsThe smaller 3.5 inch version works on a novelty item like a large coin pouch or wristlet for a coffee fan.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
