Round chubby gnome with an oversized red pointed hat thats taller than his whole body, tapering to a soft point with a pompom on the side. Underneath theres a mass of white fluffy beard with tiny closed happy eyes and a blushed nose peeking through. Both stubby hands grip a wide mug with a whipped-cream swirl on top. Six colours: light pink, red, white, beige, brown, black outline. Cute as anything, honestly.

Six colours, 5 color changes, 5 sizes. The smallest at 3.51 inches already packs 23,797 stitches and the largest at 7.51 inches goes up to 65,361. The beard section has a thick padded feel when finished, it's almost like the stitching is raised up. She sent me a photo last christmas after stitching the 5-inch version onto a mug rug and I couldnt believe how plush the beard came out. Pop a cutaway under the fabric from 5 inches up, the stitch count needs proper stabilisation or you'll get warping at the brim line.

Go slow through the hat satin fill and bury your jump stitches, they show in the red if you dont. Trim thread tails short before moving to the beard sections or they sneak through to the front. Use a fresh needle for the large size, 65,000 stitches is a long run and a dull needle drags in the satin.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas mug rugs and coaster setsThe 5-inch size fills a standard 5x7 mug rug nicely, the round gnome body suits the horizontal format
  • Holiday kitchen towels and hand towelsA 4-5 inch version on a tea towel chest area reads well when hanging from an oven handle
  • Winter coffee bar decor pillows and mini hoop artSmall 3.5-inch version works as hoop wall art framed in a 5-inch embroidery hoop for shelf display
  • Christmas gift pouches and fabric gift bagsUse at 3.5-4 inches on a flat fabric pouch front, the gnome silhouette is immediately recognisable
  • Holiday onesies and baby bibs for the festive seasonThe 3.5-inch size fits a standard onesie chest panel, the round shape sits without bunching
  • Gnome-themed Christmas tote bags and market bagsCanvas tote at 5-6 inches, the tall hat and wide body fill the front panel centre nicely
  • Seasonal sweatshirts and hoodies for December giftingLeft chest placement at 3.5-4 inches on a sweatshirt is the most popular spot for this shape

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
