Knocked out this phoenix in full-spread form, wings thrown all the way open, tail curling down in those long pointed feather spikes. The body is tight filigree work, like a tribal tattoo redrawn in thread. Every feather strand radiates outward from a dense centre with tiny scroll curls at the wing tips so the whole thing reads as movement even when its sitting still on fabric.

Its one solid gold and thats the point. No second colour, no shading cheats. The depth comes from direction changes between the feather fill strips and the outline satin. Body core uses a tighter fill angle than the wing extensions so your eye naturally reads it as a bird shape even across a thick pile fabric. The tail spikes are long slim satin columns that taper to a real point at the bottom, And the head has a tiny crest of curled scroll shapes that look like a crown if youre standing back a bit.

Five sizes running from 3.51 by 2.67 inches up to 7.51 by 5.69 inches. At the biggest size this is a full back panel or a dramatic jacket piece. Smallest fits on a breast pocket or cap front. Stitch count tops out at 24,102 on the large which is a solid medium-density run at 564 stitches per square inch, so it stitches crisply without being a thread hog. One colour means zero stops, no colour changes, just one continuous run that most machines handle in under 20 minutes on the big size.

Gold metallic thread is the obvious choice and it genuinely looks spectacular. So does a rich amber rayon on black velvet or a warm bronze on burgundy. Customers have done this on denim jackets, bomber backs, gym bags and wall art hoops. A customer ran it in copper thread on a black canvas tote and it came out looking like something off a luxury fashion brand, and Ive seen that photo more times than Id expect. Back last november I had three separate orders for this one in the same week, all for birthday gifts, all on dark velvet. Pick a dense woven base or a firm denim and hoop tight with a medium-weight cutaway underneath. Use a 75/11 needle for the metallic thread and slow the machine down slightly or youll see skipped stitches on the filigree sections. Avoid placing it on pale fabric where the gold just sits flat.

Holler if the download link doesnt show up in your inbox after purchase.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Denim jacket back panel statement pieceRun the 7.5-inch on a denim jacket back and a customer told me it was the most commented piece they wore all year
  • Bomber jacket chest or back placementPlace the large size centred on a bomber jacket back for a fashion-forward statement that works in gold metallic or copper rayon
  • Black canvas tote with metallic gold threadStitch the medium on a black canvas tote in gold metallic thread and the whole piece reads like a boutique accessory
  • Gym bag front pocket detailThe 3.5-inch size sits neatly on a gym bag front pocket, adds visual interest without covering the whole panel
  • Cap front panel embroideryUse the smallest size on a structured cap front, one solid colour means the machine runs it clean with no stops
  • Wall art hoop display in a frameMount the large phoenix in a 10-inch wooden hoop on navy felt for wall art that customers have been framing for kids rooms and studios
  • Velvet clutch or evening bag accentPlace the medium on a velvet clutch in bronze or copper thread and it picks up light every time the bag moves
  • Custom patch on black felt backingBack the large size on thick black felt, cut close, and you have a bold iron-on-style patch for any denim or canvas piece

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
