Worked up a gothic skeleton hand and heart piece with proper Y2K alt energy. Skeleton hand reaches up from the bottom of the frame holding a small pink heart between thumb and index finger like its offering it. Above the hand theres a pair of parted lips in dark pink, and a tiny grey skull rests right on the upper lip like a kiss mark.

Five threads doing all the work. Dark blood red carries the lip outlines and the main shading, deeper maroon handles the shadow areas in the corners and inside the mouth. Mid grey forms the little skull, charcoal grey adds the bone cracks and the shadow detail on the skeleton fingers. Soft pink fills the heart and the inside of the lips.

I drew this up after a customer messaged me asking for a goth valentines piece that wasnt the usual cutesy bat heart combo. She runs an alt clothing brand and wanted something with proper attitude. Since then Ive seen it used on band merch, alt valentines cards and halloween costume tops aswell.

Five sizes available, 2.34 inch up to 5.02 inch tall. The smaller sizes still keep the lip detail crisp because the cross hatching is loose, but the tiny skull starts losing definition under 3 inches so stick to the bigger sizes if thats your hero element.

Stitches cleanly on lighter solid fabrics so the pink and red tones pop, oatmeal cotton and pale grey hoodies look real good. Place tearaway under woven cotton, swap to cutaway for stretch knits. Skip anything textured like waffle because the fine hand bones wont read properly. Drop me a message if you hit any file load issues and Ill sort it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Alt clothing brand merch teesStitch the 4 inch version on the chest of plain oatmeal tees as merch for an alt or punk clothing brand drop.
  • Goth valentines card panelsPop the small size onto a folded card stock fabric panel and use it as the cover of handmade goth valentines cards.
  • Band tee chest hitsA 5 inch hit on the front of a black or charcoal band tee adds proper Y2K attitude to a stripped back merch shirt.
  • Pale grey hoodie back piecesRun the largest size on the back centre of a pale grey hoodie, lips and skull facing toward the collar.
  • Halloween costume top accentsStitch a smaller version onto a mesh shrug or fishnet panel for a halloween costume top layer with attitude.
  • Tattoo studio tote bagsPop the medium size on the front of a black canvas tote bag for a tattoo studio merch piece or alt shop.
  • Valentine pillow case detailThe smaller version stitched on the corner of a pink or oxblood pillow case ties together gothic valentine bedroom decor.
  • Y2K aesthetic backpack patchesCut the smallest size onto a patch blank and sew it onto a Y2K style mini backpack for the alt aesthetic crowd.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
