Pulled together a gothic skull with a single red rose blooming on the side and its got proper old school tattoo flash energy. Skull is shown side profile facing left, jaw slightly open, cross-hatch shading running across the cranium so its got real depth. The rose sits on the right temple like its growing right out of the bone. Couple of dark green leaves curl out behind it.

Five thread colours doing the work. Heavy black outlines wrap the whole thing, white catches the highlights on the bone, mid grey adds the shading inside the eye socket and along the jaw. The rose is bright red with darker red shading lines on each petal, leaves are a deep moody green.

Worked this one up because a customer wrote me asking for a memento mori piece for her shop, the kind that wasnt too halloween-only. Im glad I did because honestly its been one of those designs people order all year, not just october.

Five sizes available, smallest 3.51 inch tall up to 7.51 inch. The bigger sizes pack alot of detail since the cross-hatch lines are pretty dense so give your machine a sec between the black and red colour changes.

Stitches cleanly on heavier woven fabrics like canvas tote panels, denim jackets, twill workshirts. Use a tearaway behind cotton, swap to mesh cutaway for any stretch knits. Email me if anything misbehaves on the file load. Send me a chat if the file misbehaves and Ill rework the punch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Denim jacket back panelsWorn denim jacket back at the largest size, the crosshatch shading and the red rose make a statement without needing text.
  • Black canvas tote bagsHeavy black canvas tote at the mid size for everyday carry with a moody flash edge, wearable all year.
  • Charcoal twill workshirtsCharcoal twill workshirt left chest at the 4 inch version, quiet enough for the office, loud enough for after work.
  • Memento mori pillow coversBlack or burgundy linen throw pillow corner at the smaller size, moody bedroom detail that suits the aesthetic.
  • Tattoo studio merch teesPlain tee front for tattoo studio or alt brand merch at the medium size, the five colour design keeps blank costs low.
  • Heavy cotton hoodiesBlack or oxblood hoodie back at 5.5 inches, the green leaves trail toward the shoulder naturally with the design shape.
  • Halloween bandana cornersBlack bandana corner at the small size for halloween costume layering, the rose adds warmth to the skull.
  • Gothic wedding favour pouchesBlack cotton drawstring pouches at the smallest size for gothic wedding party favours, elegant without being over the top.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
