Black spider in the centre, web spreading out behind it, and then floral vines with small flowers growing around the outer edge of the web frame, then bats scattered above in a loose fan formation. Its a more botanical take on a halloween spider design, the flowers make it feel gothic rather than just scary, which is honestly why I like it. Five bats fly outward from the top half, a few more hover at the sides, all black silhouettes. The spider body is a solid filled black oval, legs are directional satin columns radiating out, and those fine cord paths are what give the web its sharp geometric lines.
Five sizes from 3.13 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall up to 6.71 inches by 7.5 inches. One colour, all black, density is 549 which puts it firmly in the dense to very dense range. Stitch count runs from 12,379 stitches at the small end up to 27,613 stitches on the largest, thats high because of the web detail and those botanical vine elements around the border. Digitising in Wilcom means the underlay is laid in properly for that density level, the stitches stay crisp and all the floral fills sit flat. Dont rush it on the thin cord sections.
Tape a heavy cutaway behind your fabric. A customer last week asked me if tearaway was ok on a quilted cotton halloween wall hanging, I told him to stick with cutaway because the web outline stitching pulls at the edges if the backing tears away before everything settles. Hoop tightly and use a size 14 sharp needle. Slow your machine on the fine satin sections or youll get needle drag.
Stitch on white, cream, charcoal, or grey fabric and the black silhouette reads perfectly. Try it on a dark teal or sage cotton for an unexpected colour combination. Skip topping on smooth cotton but use it on velvet or any pile fabric so the fine detail doesnt vanish into the pile.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

- Spooky home decor wall hangings and framed fabric artHoop white linen in a 8x10 frame, stitch the 5 inch version and hang it as gothic seasonal wall art.
- Halloween tote bags and trick-or-treat canvas bagsThe 5 inch version centres well on a standard canvas tote with good clearance on all sides.
- Gothic jacket patches on black denim or canvasStitch onto a pre-cut denim panel and hand-sew onto a jacket back or sleeve for a gothic patch.
- Halloween throw pillow panels and cushion coversUse the 6.71 inch size on a 20x20 pillow panel, it fills the centre without crowding the seam.
- Witchy aesthetic notebooks and fabric journal coversStitch the 3.13 inch version on fabric notebook covers backed with stiff interfacing for a gothic aesthetic.
- Dark floral themed accessories and pouchesThe 4 inch size works on zipper pouch fronts in black linen or dark cotton for dark floral accessory projects.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
