Chunky segmented caterpillar, body made up of round green spheres stacked one on top of the other. The head has two big eyes and a lil smile that reads friendly rather than creepy. Colouring goes from lime green at the top segment down to a deeper forest green near the base, with yellow and white accent stitches between the joints. Seven colours total and the contrast between the segments is what gives it that rounded 3D look.

Punched this through Wilcom and the stitch count is quite a range: 10,936 at the low end, climbing to 36,383 at the full 5.06 by 7.5 inch size. High density at 959 so youre gonna want a proper cutaway stabiliser, not tearaway. The segment outlines use satin columns to keep each section clean and separate. Directional fill angles on the body orbs give the thread a slight sheen when light hits it straight on.

Organise your thread changes before you start because with 7 colours back to back the machine pauses are frequent. Load all your greens, yellows and whites on the rack before you hoop up. Its kinda repetitive otherwise stopping to swap mid-session. The design is tall at 7.5 inches on the large end so use a bigger hoop and stitch it vertically on bag panels and onesies. Hoop snug.

My daughter pointed this one out to me this spring when I was going through backlog designs and said it looks like the caterpillar from her picture book. Im going to use that as an indicator that it reads correctly. If you have any trouble with the download after payment, send me a message and Ill get it resent.

Works on kids tees, onesies, denim bibs, canvas bags, and fabric bunting panels. Nine sizes available from 2.36 inches wide.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
