The pumpkin here is a frame rather than the subject. Inside that chunky outlined pumpkin shape theres a whole little Halloween scene packed in tight: a cat sitting up straight with a pointy witch hat, a bat with spread wings mid-flight, a small round jack-o-lantern grinning at the bottom, scattered 5-point stars, and curling scroll vines filling the corners. The whole thing is one colour, solid black, cut out like a paper craft silhouette against whatever fabric you put it on.
Because its single colour the thread management is about as simple as it gets, one stop, one bobbin, done. But dont let that fool you, 22,744 stitches at the 7.2 inch size is a genuine fill, not a lightweight outline. Density at 421 keeps the black areas even without being too stiff. Stitch counts go from 6,079 at the 2.4 inch size all the way up to that 22,744 at 7.2 inches across. Six sizes total.
A customer who does personalised Halloween gifts told me this one works on almost any fabric colour because the silhouette reads clearly against light, dark, orange, even a deep forest green. Thats the advantage of the single colour approach, the contrast does all the work. Text me if you want it but honestly just stitch it and see.
Best results on a firmly hooped cotton twill, canvas, or felt. Layer a cutaway stabiliser under the full size versions, the pumpkin outline has long satin runs that will distort on anything with stretch. Avoid sheer fabric unless you want the backing to show through the gaps in the inner scene.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Halloween gift bags and fabric pouchesStitch at 4 inches on an orange canvas gift bag for a classic Halloween palette that needs no extra decoration.
- Monogram base for personalised Halloween itemsThis is an ideal monogram base, add initials inside the pumpkin negative space using a small satin font alongside it.
- Autumn throw pillow covers in any fabric colourAt 6 inches on a deep teal or forest green pillow cover the black silhouette pops harder than it does on white.
- Black felt patches for costume accessoriesBack a 3 inch version with heavy cutaway on black felt to make a no-fray patch you can sew onto anything fast.
- Seasonal wall art hooped and framedHoop it in a 7 inch embroidery frame and leave it in the hoop as a finished wall piece, no framing hardware needed.
- Kids Halloween treat sacks and totesThe 2.4 inch size fits side by side across the front of a fabric treat sack for a repeating pattern without crowding.
- Craft table centrepieces and fabric ornamentsCut the stitched piece into a pumpkin shape with pinking shears and use as a stuffed fabric ornament or bowl filler.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
