Four fat cartoon chickens standing in a row and every single one of em is dressed up for halloween. First chick on the left wears a purple witch hat and carries a broomstick. Next ones got a full carved pumpkin swapped in for a head, proper jack-o-lantern face, orange and grinning. Middle bird drapes in a white ghost sheet with big blank eyes. Fourth chick on the right wears a grey knights helmet and looks genuinely confused about it. Black bats flap above all of em and theres carved pumpkins tucked between the birds feet.

Nine colours in the file: white, grey, purple, green, brown, orange, yellow, red and black. Wilcom digitised it with 8 colour changes so ya swap thread nine times and thats the whole job. The biggest size at 6.99 inches wide runs 18,913 stitches. The smallest at 3.99 inches clocks 11,083. Flat colour blocking with black outline work holding the whole cartoon style together. And honestly the lineworks clean enough that it reads as funny from across a room.

I get messages every october from people running halloween costume shops and theyre usually after something thats fun without being gory. One customer last autumn put the 7-inch version across the back of a black fleece jacket for a farm themed halloween party and sent me a photo. The thing drew compliments all night, people kept stopping to look at the chickens.

But its not just costume retail. Daycare directors order it for staff shirts, craft fair sellers put it on canvas bags, school art teachers grab it for october projects. Stitch on black, charcoal or deep navy cotton for the bats to pop. Skip white fabric because the ghost costume disappears into the ground. Use a cutaway stabiliser on fleece or stretch material, tearaway works fine on tightly woven cotton or denim.

Hoop snug and slow your machine on the orange pumpkin fills because the satin density packs alot of thread into the 4-inch size. Holler at me if the file gives your machine any trouble and I'll sort it quickly.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
