Its a ghost who decided to become a cowboy and honestly Im here for it. The body is that classic round blob ghost shape, done in cream satin fill with a thin khaki shadow layer on the left side that stops it looking totally flat. The arms are stubby little ghost nubs reaching out to hold the lasso rope, which loops up and over the top of the hat in one big open curl.

The hat is the detail that makes the whole thing work. Wide brim, tall crown, stitched in 2 shades of brown satin with a darker ribbon band where the crown meets the brim. You can see the directional underlay on the crown giving it that felt-hat texture feel. Seven colours, 6 changes, 55 trims. One customer emailed to say they put this on matching shirts for their kids halloween costumes last year and called it the funniest design their family has ever worn.

Stitch count sits at 15,927 at the smallest up through 45,398 at the largest. Its a solid mid-range density, nothing scary for your machine. Lay no-show mesh cutaway under most fabrics and hoop tight so the ghost body satin wont pucker. Pop the topping down on any textured surface. The lasso outline work needs the fabric held firm because those thin rope lines have no fill underneath to anchor them. Skip stretchy jersey entirely, the outline rope lines distort badly on knits.

9 sizes from 3.49 inches wide, going up to 7.45 inches tall on the biggest. Thats a big square-ish footprint, so the large sizes are great for sweatshirt fronts and tote bag faces. The 3.5-inch is the sweet spot for hat panels and bag pockets.

Email me if you run into any trouble with the file and Ill sort it for you fast.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids halloween costume teesStitch the 4-inch version on a matching set of black tees for kids halloween costumes and youve got a look that gets comments at every door
  • Halloween party matching family shirtsOne customer ordered multiples last year for a family halloween party and they all wore matching cowboy ghost shirts, which is basically the best use of this design
  • Trick-or-treat tote bagsOn a plain canvas trick-or-treat tote it looks custom and handmade in all the right ways
  • Western halloween hat panelsThe 3.5-inch version fits neatly on a structured cowboy hat panel for a western-themed halloween costume accessory
  • Sweatshirt chest designsCentre the 5-inch on a sweatshirt chest for an adult halloween top that reads fun without trying too hard
  • Halloween gift bag patchesSmall sizes from 3.5 inches make nice patches for fabric gift bags at halloween-themed craft sales or parties
  • Country-themed autumn tote bagsThis works surprisingly well beyond halloween on western-themed totes or country fair event merch where the ghost just reads as a mascot

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
