Five colours and its a chunky cartoon ghost, round-bodied, small black dot eyes, holding a carved pumpkin in one arm and what looks like a Halloween-themed drink cup in the other. The ghost body is white with flat fill and a slight drop shadow underneath to give it lift. The pumpkin is orange satin fill with black carved face features. The cup has a purple section and a straw detail. Each element is separate enough that theyre individually readable even at the 3.51-inch size which is the thing you worry about with 5-colour cartoon work at small scale.
Density is 800 which is quite high and thats not an accident. That high coverage is needed to keep the white figure opaque without the base fabric bleeding through, and the pumpkin orange needs saturation to read warm. At the largest 6.5-inch size its running 29,372 stitches. This isnt a quick design. Plan for maybe 20-25 minutes depending on your machine. Use a good cutaway stabiliser, this one has alot of dense fill that will pull on a flimsy backing.
I made this specifically for halloween sweatshirts and trick-or-treat bags after a customer last October asked me for a ghost that was cute rather than scary. Kids halloween gear is where this gets most of its use and Ive had really good feedback on it from customers doing batch production for school events.
Add a topping layer on any pile fabric or fleece. The 5-colour sequence means you'll be changing thread and re-hooping if youre doing multiples, so set your workspace up for that before you start. Skip very dark backgrounds for the white ghost sections, the satin coverage at 800 density handles it on medium darks but the ghost can look dingy on pure black without a proper base underlay.
Run it on orange, black, or purple fabric for the full halloween effect. A plain canvas trick-or-treat bag in natural cotton with this on the front is the obvious project and it works really well.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
