Gnome designs have been popular with customers who want something halloween but a bit more whimsical than a skull or a witch. Last year one customer ordered three gnome variants for a complete halloween mantle display, she stitched em onto mini hoops and propped them up with easels. This one with the lil bat hovering up top is my favourite of the bunch honestly.

Its 20,301 stitches at density 282, seven colour stops. The beard section, which takes up alot of the gnome body, is a large satin fill area, so hooping tension matters more than people expect. Too loose and you get pull-in at the beard edges, too tight and you risk distortion on the hat. Hoop at medium tension on medium-weight cutaway stabiliser. And if youre stitching on a dark fabric, run a light underlay pass under the beard fill so the grey reads clean over whatever colour is beneath.

Stitch it onto a halloween tote, a seasonal throw pillow, or the front of a canvas zipper pouch. It also works on a kids hoodie chest, the near-square 3.5" x 3.19" footprint fits a standard medium left-chest position. On fleece, always use cutaway, tearaway just wont hold with the satin coverage this design carries. Press with a pressing cloth after stitching to set the satin beard smoothly without flattening the texture too much.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
