Open frame with three bats up top and twin pumpkins at the base. Two columns of bare gnarled branches run up the sides, the top's left open with 3 flying bats swooping across the gap. Upper left corner's got a spiderweb, upper right has another. Bottom of the frame's anchored by a lil pair of carved pumpkins side by side, both grinning like good jack-o-lanterns do.

Its 1 colour and nine sizes, all black thread. No colour changes. Smallest size starts at 5,263 stitches and tops out at 13,830 at the 5.8 x 7 inch hoop. Density's at 338 spi so its a lighter stitch load than a fully filled design. The digitising in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio keeps the web lines crisp and the bat wing fills solid without bleeding into each other. Stabiliser choice matters: light tear-away works on woven cotton for the smaller hoops, but dont skip heavyweight cutaway on the bigger 5-inch-plus sizes.

I get messages every year around September asking for a halloween frame design people can drop text into. Theres nothing else like it for that. Ya drop a name, a date, or a spooky phrase right in the open centre and the frame holds the whole composition without competing with your text. Ive seen people add ages, birth years, even just the word BOO in the gap and it looks great.

Stitch it on a black cotton tote and pop a year in the centre with your machine font. Run it on a Halloween pillow cover, a front door hanging, or a small treat bag. Add to a kitchen towel with some text or just leave the centre blank for a cleaner look. Avoid knit fabrics on the smaller 3-inch size, the fine web corners need a firm base to hold their shape.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
